Depends on what you need
The brim will provide someone with pretty good shade except where it bends, that allows a bit of light through. The top of the hat allows a lot of light through. If you have hair that protects your scalp, and you'd like good airflow in a sun hat, then this one will work for you. If your scalp needs good sun coverage, this one won't be a good choice.
